Human Factors Requirements Project Progressing
The Human Factors Managers Group (HFMG) is leading a specific project looking at standardising human factors (HF) requirements. The proposal is to develop the Human Factors Requirements Document (HFRD) to provide a “quick reference tool” for the Australian rail transport industry to utilise when documenting HF requirements for inclusion into initial Project Contract / Scope / Technical Requirements documents for works that have HF implications. It will
be a multi-phase project including a number of HF experts in rail companies and consultancies.
Currently information is being gathered from the sub-group members for baselining (Stage 1). The sub-group is chaired by Alistair Furnell from DoT (Victoria) and the next meeting will be on 18 October 2021.
All Aboard With Metro Trains Sydney (MTS)
Over 50 MTS staff attended an onboarding session with RISSB staff on 10 September. As the operator of the expanding Sydney Metro network with their new generation of fast, safe and reliable driverless metro trains, RISSB is looking forward to further engagement with MTS to learn about where RISSB can
best assist.
